To what extent does Belgium mobilize the different dimensions of its foreign policy to advance international cooperation on climate change? What levers need to be activated, and what potential obstacles must be overcome to improve the impact of Belgian foreign policy in this area? Are there best practices observed in other countries that could be adapted to our context? This research project aims to organize a series of five seminars to examine these questions. These seminars, intended for an informed audience, will bring together, by invitation, academic experts from various universities and disciplines, as well as other key observers and stakeholders in Belgian foreign policy (i.e., civil servants, representatives from civil society, and the business sector). These discussions will be informed by research conducted by Prof. Romain Weikmans’ team.
