Development of the induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell technology for the modeling and cellular therapy of nervous system diseases.

Units : Laboratory of Experimental Neurology | ULB256

Description :

Setup of technology to reprogram differentiated cells (fibroblasts) for control individuals and fro individuals with neurological
diseases to generate pluripotent stem cells (iPS). Molecular and physiological characterization of iPS cell-derived neurons and
glial cells to establish cellular models of neurological diseases. iPS cell grafts into animal models of neurological diseases as
experimental therapies.
