Theoretical Physics : Fundamental Interactions (PhysTh-FI)

Faculty of Sciences | Physics

(Code: ULB170)

Person in charge of the unit : TINIAKOV Petr.

Our research is at the interface between fundamental interactions, including gravity, and cosmology. We use experiments and observations from colliders,
telescopes, underground detectors, etc, to uncover the laws of nature beyond those encompassed within the Standard Model of particle physics. The topics we
are concerned with include the nature and origin of dark matter and dark energy, the physics of neutrinos, the origin of the baryon asymmetry of the
universe and its relation to CP violation and, last but not least, the mechanism at the origin of the mass of elementary particles (the Brout-Englert-Higgs
mechanism).
