This research project analyses the fundamental changes of political structures in Lotharingia from the end of Carolingian times to
the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, principally between Meuse and Moselle. The aim of the project is to examine all kinds of
symbolism of power (written sources, iconographic sources, architectonis sources) by an interdisciplinary approach.
