Finite Elasticity and Finite-Amplitude Waves.

Units : Mechanics and Applied Mathematics | ULB178

Description :

This research belongs to the subject called finite elasticity of compressible or incompressible solids. On one hand, general
properties of large deformations are studied, and particularly, finite shear. On the other hand, attention is given to propagation of
finite-amplitude waves in isotropic e!astic solids subjected to a large static deformation. Solutions are seeked for special models
(Mooney-Rivlin, Hadamard,...) and various special static deformations are considered. Occasionnaly, waves in non linear fluids
are also considered.
